Cruise Fees – Are Cruise Ships Costly?

Cruise

Cruises are perceived as being expensive and compared to most beach holidays they are but you get so much more for your money. A two week cruise should be thought of more as equivalent to a continental tour than a simple beach break as you visit many diverse different sites and cities along the way.

Cruises do differ in price a little though and while many cruise lines only offer full board accommodation some cheaper offerings are starting to offer pay as you go offerings: meaning if you would rather have a few less drinks each night and stick to the pasta instead of the lobster you can save. Even with full board cruises though there are usually a lot of extra you can pay for and only de-luxe cruises tend to be fully inclusive.

Another way to save is to look out for last minute deals on cruise ships, these can be especially good value as like aircraft the cost of fuel is a major operating cost and the cost of an extra passenger on board is therefore low plus cruise operators know that passengers will spend more on board.
