Do you hear the open road just calling your name? Do you enjoy the thrills you experience when you drive to a new place? If so, then road trip blood is coursing through your veins. There are several different places to which you can travel by car, and getting there is half the fun of the whole trip. If this sounds like you, an airplane ride simply will not do.
London to Brighton
This is a trip that takes only a couple of hours by car. Brighton is located to the south of London and it is approximately ninety kilometers from the city. The easiest way to get from London to Brighton is by taking the A23 South. Your trip will transport you from the hustle and bustle of city life in London to the peaceful tranquility of the countryside as you enter West Sussex and South Downs.
As you travel, the A23 will become the M23, which takes you along the coast until you enter Brighton. Brighton received the status of a city in the year 2000; it is now affectionately referred to as London by the Sea, and has come quite far from its gang clashes of the 1960s. Brighton is now a trending city with happening clubs and cafes. It is even quite a fashionable place to go clothes shopping. You will find that The Lanes is a shopper’s dream. After the drive from London, you will find this city to be quite the place to simply chill out and enjoy the views. Brighton Pier is just one such place where you can do this.
The Norfolk Coast
If a peaceful road trip is what you are seeking, then you will find that a road trip down the Norfolk Coast is just what you need. Coming from Norwich, you will take the A47 to Kings Lynn. Kings Lynn is a great place to stop off and enjoy the scenery. From Kings Lynn to Cromer, the A149 is also quite spectacular. The nature preserves here are worth stopping to see, as well. If you have the time, take B1355 a little ways inland to Compton Hall and explore the cornfield maze.
Do not underestimate the beauty that you will find along the Norfolk Coast. There are so many beaches that are worth your time. Many of them are secluded and not frequented much, meaning that you will find the joy and peace in your surroundings that you have been longing for. There is nothing better for a day of relaxation than an empty beach with miles and miles of sand and forest to explore.
If you plan to spend a little bit of time here, the coast to the north offers such exciting activities as cycling and hiking. While you drive through the area, be sure to check out the awesome villages that are sprung along the drive. There are several cottages, arts and crafts shops, and old-timey pubs to wet your whistle. Also, check out some of the famed art galleries that are in this area.
If you are planning a road trip anytime soon, you should make sure that your vehicle is insured. Compare car insurance as you are planning your trip and be sure to choose the coverage that will be best for your road trip plans.
